The House Mill

Using The House Mill in Bromley-by-Bow as host building, creating a sensory installation cut through the existing building.


The brief focuses on circular economies and respecting the listed building. Taking a post-industrial mill house in Bromley-by-Bow, and developing the site to benefit the community in the area and provide an important space which works alongside public healthcare. The project involves catering to underfunded health needs in a unique, creative way, outside of the typical medical environment. The main goal of this project is to create a harmonious balance between healthcare, sensory installation, and sustainable design

The conditions inside the original building are used to create a circular economy of growing rhubarb plants which are used to produce bio materials used in the new design of the building.
